About The Role

We are looking for a Retention Marketing Manager to build and scale our customer retention engine from the ground up. This is a 0 1 role, where nothing exists yet and you will own the entire lifecycle of designing, implementing, and optimizing retention systems.

You will be responsible for creating the foundational infrastructure for retention, including lifecycle journeys, post-purchase engagement, loyalty programs, and win-back strategies. This role requires someone who has built retention systems from scratch before, understands customer behavior deeply, and is excited about building something new.

Key Responsibilities

Retention Strategy & Ownership

  • Build and execute the end-to-end retention strategy across the customer lifecycle.
  • Design the retention roadmap from 0 1, including automation frameworks, engagement journeys, and loyalty initiatives.
  • Own key retention metrics such as repeat purchase rate, customer lifetime value (LTV), churn, and engagement rates.

Lifecycle & CRM Marketing

  • Build lifecycle marketing flows including:
    • Welcome journeys
    • Post-purchase engagement
    • Replenishment reminders
    • Cross-sell and upsell campaigns
    • Win-back campaigns
    • Abandoned cart and browse abandonment flows
  • Set up and manage automated email, SMS, and WhatsApp communication flows.
Loyalty & Customer Programs

  • Design and implement loyalty and rewards programs to drive repeat engagement.
  • Build personalized customer experiences and segmentation strategies.

Data & Experimentation

  • Build customer segmentation and cohort analysis frameworks.
  • Run A/B experiments to improve retention, repeat purchase, and engagement.
  • Work with data to understand customer behavior and continuously optimize campaigns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, marketing, growth, and operations teams to align retention initiatives with overall growth strategy.
  • Help integrate retention into product experiences and customer touchpoints.

What We're Looking For

  • 36 years of experience in retention marketing, CRM, or lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience building retention or lifecycle programs from scratch (0 1).
  • Hands-on experience with CRM/marketing automation tools such as Klaviyo, HubSpot, MoEngage, WebEngage, Braze, CleverTap, or similar.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in cohort analysis, customer segmentation, and A/B testing.
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end and operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in D2C, ecommerce, consumer brands, or marketplaces is a strong plus.
