Retail Underwriter
Job Summary
The Retail Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating, assessing, and processing retail insurance proposals across various lines of general insurance, including motor, health, travel, home, and personal accident insurance. The role involves coordinating with insurers, analyzing risk profiles, negotiating terms, and supporting sales teams to ensure timely issuance of policies while maintaining underwriting standards.
*Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess retail insurance proposals received from sales teams and clients.
- Evaluate risk factors and determine appropriate insurance coverage options.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain quotations, underwriting approvals, and policy issuance.
- Compare insurer offerings and recommend suitable coverage based on customer requirements.
- Negotiate premiums, terms, and conditions with insurers where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Monitor policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, proposals, and policy documents.
- Support sales and relationship management teams with product knowledge and underwriting guidance.
- Analyze claim history and risk exposure to support underwriting decisions.
- Assist in developing underwriting processes and service standards.
- Track turnaround times and ensure timely completion of underwriting activities.
