Syren is looking for an experienced Retail Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong domain knowledge in retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, supply chain, and retail analytics. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, customers, and delivery teams to provide domain expertise and support retail transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a retail domain expert for customer engagements and internal teams.
- Gather and analyze business requirements from retail stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on retail processes, including merchandising, inventory management, pricing, promotions, and store operations.
- Collaborate with data, analytics, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into solutions.
- Support pre-sales activities, client discussions, solution demonstrations, and proposal development.
- Identify business improvement opportunities and recommend best practices.
- Validate business requirements, data mappings, and functional designs.
- Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and business process validation.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in the Retail industry.
- Strong understanding of retail business processes and KPIs.
- Experience working with retail data, reporting, and analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of merchandising, inventory planning, supply chain, pricing, and promotions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with retail analytics platforms, BI tools, or data platforms.
- Exposure to cloud-based data and analytics solutions.
- Experience supporting digital transformation or data modernization initiatives.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field.
