About The Role
As an
Associate – Retail Replenishment FMCG), you will be responsible for supporting merchandise planning, inventory planning, allocation, replenishment, and inventory optimization across FMCG categories. The role focuses on ensuring the right products are available at the right stores at the right time by leveraging sales trends, demand insights, and inventory planning principles to maximize product availability while minimizing stock-outs, excess inventory, and expiry-related losses.
You will work closely with Supply Chain, Category, Operations, and Store teams to drive efficient replenishment planning, improve inventory productivity, and support overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do
- Support merchandise planning, inventory planning, and replenishment across FMCG categories.
- Plan inventory allocation and replenishment based on sales trends, demand forecasts, and business requirements.
- Monitor and optimize Days of Inventory (DOI) through inventory planning, stock balancing, and reallocation initiatives.
- Track stock availability, fill rate, and inventory health, taking proactive actions to prevent stock-outs.
- Analyze sales, inventory, and demand data to improve planning accuracy and replenishment efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain MIS reports covering inventory performance, DOI, fill rate, stock availability, and category performance.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Category, Warehouse, and Store Operations teams to ensure timely replenishment execution.
- Support inventory hygiene initiatives by monitoring ageing inventory and minimizing expiry-related losses.
- Identify planning gaps and recommend inventory optimization opportunities to improve overall stock productivity.
- React quickly to changing demand patterns and business priorities to ensure seamless store replenishment.
Qualifications & Skills / What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Retail, Commerce, or a related field. SCM certification or diploma is an added advantage.
- 2–4 years of experience in retail planning, merchandise planning, inventory planning, allocation, or replenishment within FMCG, Modern Trade, Retail, or Quick Commerce.
- Strong understanding of merchandise planning, inventory planning, replenishment, allocation, and demand forecasting.
- Knowledge of inventory optimization concepts including DOI, fill rate, stock availability, and inventory hygiene.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Lookups, and basic forecasting).
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Retail Planning or Replenishment Planning within large-format retail organizations, FMCG companies, supermarkets, or Quick Commerce (dark store) operations.
- Exposure to ERP systems, planning tools, or inventory management platforms is preferred.
