About the Role
We are looking for a REST API Developer (Python) (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on API development, backend engineering, web services, system integration, and scalable software architecture.
In this role, you will work with AI-generated outputs related to RESTful APIs, backend services, microservices, authentication systems, database integration, and cloud-native applications, helping improve how AI models understand and generate high-quality backend solutions.
Your expertise will contribute to improving AI systems used for intelligent coding assistants, backend automation, API development platforms, and enterprise software engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing common requests within your professional domain
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated API development and backend engineering outputs
- Review peer-developed deliverables to improve AI research quality and consistency
- Assess AI outputs for code quality, API design, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability
- Identify bugs, inefficient implementations, authentication issues, database bottlenecks, performance concerns, or architectural flaws in AI-generated solutions and provide structured feedback
- Support workflows involving RESTful API development, backend services, database operations, cloud deployments, and system integrations
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI systems focused on backend engineering and API development
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and backend development concepts
- Experience building RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Django REST Framework (DRF), or Flask
- Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, REST principles, API versioning, authentication, authorization, and API security
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies
- Familiarity with Git, Linux environments, testing frameworks, and API documentation tools
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and microservices architecture is a plus
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
