To strengthen our manufacturing and compliance ecosystem, we are hiring an experienced Responsible Sourcing Manager to lead factory compliance and ethical sourcing initiatives across our manufacturing partner network.
About the Role:
The Responsible Sourcing Manager will lead PlayShifu's factory compliance and ethical sourcing initiatives for products manufactured for PlayShifu. The role is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing partners adhere to Responsible Sourcing requirements, social compliance standards, environmental expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
This role requires close collaboration with factories, third-party audit agencies, sourcing teams, quality teams, and internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
This role requires regular travel to factory locations across India.
What you'll do:
Factory Compliance & Responsible Sourcing
- Ensure all factory partners comply with Responsible Sourcing Standards and vendor compliance requirements.
- Monitor adherence to labor laws, ethical employment practices, workplace safety, environmental compliance, and responsible manufacturing principles.
- Support onboarding and approval of new factories in line with the Client's compliance expectations.
- Conduct factory capability and compliance assessments before factory nomination.
- Maintain updated compliance records, certifications, audit reports, and corrective action plans.
Audit Management
- Coordinate social compliance, environmental, security, and ethical sourcing audits with third-party agencies and customers.
- Prepare factories for announced and unannounced audits.
- Track audit findings and drive timely closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure continuous readiness for customer audits and regulatory inspections.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact between PlayShifu, factories, audit agencies, and retailers compliance teams.
- Collaborate with sourcing, product development, quality, and operations teams to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into production planning.
- Educate factory management teams on the Client's standards and evolving compliance expectations.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify compliance risks across the supply chain and proactively implement mitigation plans.
- Develop supplier scorecards and performance tracking mechanisms.
- Drive sustainability and responsible sourcing improvement initiatives within factory operations.
- Support implementation of best practices in worker welfare, health & safety, and environmental responsibility.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation related to audits, certifications, factory approvals, and corrective action plans.
- Generate periodic compliance reports and dashboards for management review.
- Track key responsible sourcing KPIs and supplier performance metrics.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Social Compliance, Sustainability, or related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in responsible sourcing, factory compliance, ethical sourcing, vendor management, or manufacturing compliance.
- Prior experience working with large retailers such as Target, Walmart, Amazon, Costco, or similar global retailers is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of social compliance frameworks, labor standards, and factory audit processes.
- Familiarity with certifications and standards such as SMETA, BSCI, SA8000, WRAP, ICTI, ISO standards, and environmental compliance programs.
- Experience working with factories in toys, consumer products, electronics, or FMCG industries is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of responsible sourcing and ethical manufacturing practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and ability to influence factory partners and drive corrective actions.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Willingness to travel frequently to manufacturing locations.
- Factory audit pass rates. and timely closure of CAPA items.
- Supplier compliance score improvements and reduction in compliance-related escalations.
- Successful onboarding of compliant factory partners.
- Continuous improvement in responsible sourcing KPIs.
