Job Description – Resident Engineer M&E Equipment

About The Opportunity

  • Based at Site which is located about 70 Kms from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This is for a critical Marine Infrastructure Project for a government client. Reporting will be to Resident Engineer – Electrical and Mechanical Systems.
  • M&E Equipment & Utility Works. Lead a team for supervision of execution of M&E equipment, including material handling systems, utility corridors, and associated infrastructure. Review and monitor execution of equipment for utility services, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, applicable standards, timelines and within approved budget
  • Crane Works. Review, assess, and monitor crane installation, testing & commissioning plans, lifting schemes, and method statements for heavy and critical lifts during execution. Oversee execution of crane works and ensure lifting operations comply with safety standards, approved procedures, and best industry practices.
  • Marine & Infrastructure Interfaces. Supervise M&E equipment works associated with marine infrastructure, including jetties, wharves, berths, and coastal structures, where applicable. Coordinate with marine contractor, utility services contractor, crane contractor, and specialist vendors for integrated execution. Review installation tolerance, alignment checks, and commissioning readiness in marine environments. Witness inspection, testing and commissioning.
  • Stakeholder Coordination. Act as the primary Jacobs representative for M&E equipment matters on site. Coordinate closely with the Client, Contractors, Vendors, and Jacobs design teams to resolve technical and execution issues. Participate in progress reviews, technical meetings, and inspections with stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Documentation. Maintain site records, inspection reports, technical observations, and compliance documentation. Provide regular input to project progress reports and support handover / completion documentation for M&E systems.
  • Review and advise approval for technical submittals, method statements, certification of contractor payments.

Here's what you'll need

About You

  • Graduate in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  • 15–20 years of experience in execution and site supervision of M&E equipment and utility services for large infrastructure, industrial, port, or marine projects.
  • Strong hands-on experience in crane works, preferably level luffing cranes, heavy lifting, and complex erection activities

Technical Skills


  • Sound knowledge of M&E utility systems, erection methodologies, lifting engineering, and site execution practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant Indian and international codes, standards, and best practices for M&E works and lifting operations.
  • Ability to review drawings, lifting plans, method statements, and technical submittals critically.
  • Personal Attributes
  • Strong coordination and communication skills, capable of operating in multi-stakeholder, site-intensive environments.
  • High level of professionalism, safety awareness, and execution discipline.
  • Comfortable working in remote, marine, and challenging site conditions.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to support timely resolution of site issues.
