Hiring | Researcher (Behavioral Science)

Experience: 2–8 Years | Pune, India

We are looking for a Behavioral Researcher to join a high-impact digital product team within a leading NBFC. This role is ideal for professionals who bring a strong foundation in behavioral science, ethnographic research, qualitative and UX research, and are passionate about uncovering deep user insights to drive product and business decisions.

Role Overview

You will play a critical role in shaping user-centric financial products by applying cognitive psychology, behavioral economics, and mixed research methodologies. The focus is on understanding user motivations, decision-making patterns, and hidden behavioral drivers, and translating them into actionable insights for product, design, and strategy teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct ethnographic research, in-depth interviews (IDIs), and focus group discussions (FGDs) to uncover real-world user behaviors

• Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research studies grounded in behavioral science frameworks

• Apply concepts such as Prospect Theory, Cognitive Biases, and Decision-Making Models to decode user behavior

• Build personas, journey maps, mental models, and behavioral frameworks

• Identify pain points, trust gaps, and friction areas across digital journeys

• Conduct usability testing and concept validation using tools like Figma, Maze, and UserTesting

• Translate research insights into actionable recommendations for product and design teams

• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve conversion, engagement, and retention metrics

Skills & Experience

• 2–8 years of experience in UX Research / Behavioral Research in consumer tech, fintech, or digital platforms

• Strong expertise in ethnographic research, IDIs, FGDs, and survey design

• Educational background in Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related fields

• Proficiency with research and analytics tools such as Qualtrics, Dovetail, Maze, Miro

• Strong understanding of Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design

• Excellent storytelling, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
