RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Principal Investigators in developing research proposals, grant applications, and concept papers related to ageing and longevity societies.
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize evidence from economics, health economics, public policy, management, social sciences, data science, and related disciplines.
  • Assist in data acquisition, management, and apply data analysis, and interpretation using quantitative and qualitative methods, predictive modelling, machine learning, optimisation, and related analytical approaches where appropriate.
  • Support research on healthy ageing, workforce participation, caregiving systems, social connectedness, retirement adequacy, health and wellbeing, and longevity economies.
  • Prepare research papers, policy briefs, reports, presentations, charts, diagrams, and dissemination materials.
  • Coordinate research activities across projects and facilitate collaboration among faculty, researchers, industry, government, and community stakeholders.
  • Organise seminars, workshops, conferences and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support institute-level strategic initiatives and new research opportunities.
  • Any other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD in any related field: Economics, Health Economics, Public Policy, Public Health, Data Science, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Gerontology, Demography, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.
  • Strong interest in ageing, longevity societies, health and social policy, workforce transformation, anddemographic change.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous literature reviews and synthesize findings across disciplines, with afocus on identifying and synthesizing high-quality publications, including those from SMU's A. journal andconference list.
  • Strong quantitative research and analytical skills, including experience working with large complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modelling, causal inference, optimisation methods, machinelearning, or related analytical approaches.
  • Experience in data management, data visualisation, and evidence-based policy analysis.
  • Proficiency in drafting and refining research proposals, including the preparation of cost estimates, budgetjustifications, and statements of work.
  • Capable of supporting Principal Investigators in the development of large-scale research proposals, including MOE Tier 3 submissions, and in piecewise related research as and when required for a short-term basis.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, communication, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Willingness to work with faculty members from diverse disciplinary backgrounds across the University.
