Applications are invited for the following Project Staff positions in an ICSSR-funded Minor Research Project

Project Title:

Wari Tradition of Maharashtra: A Case Study of Social Inclusion, Connectedness and Well-being of Marginalized Social Identities

Funding Agency: Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi

Scheme: ICSSR-Funded Minor Research Project

Project Staff / Post:

1) Research Associate

Duration: 5 months

Monthly Remuneration/Emoluments: Rs. 47,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications: Post-graduate in a Social Science discipline (minimum 55% marks) with NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D., and 2 years research experience as a Research Assistant in any research project.

2) Research Assistant

Duration: 3 months

Monthly Remuneration/Emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications: Post-graduate in a Social Science discipline (minimum 55% marks) with NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D.

3) Field Investigator

Duration: 5 months

Monthly Remuneration/Emoluments: Rs. 20,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications: Post-graduate in a Social Science discipline with minimum 55% marks.

General Conditions

• The appointment is purely temporary, on a contractual basis, co-terminus with the duration of the project (or till the sanctioned project period, whichever is earlier).
• The position does not confer any right to regular employment at MIT ADT University.
• Candidates with prior experience in fieldwork, qualitative research, oral history, or work on marginalized communities, folk traditions, or the Wari/Warkari tradition will be preferred.
• Working knowledge of Marathi (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential, given the nature of fieldwork involved.
• Selected candidates must be willing to travel and undertake extensive fieldwork along the Wari pilgrimage routes in Maharashtra.
