Job Description

Location: On-site I Chennai

About Us:

Evoxia is transitioning from lab-scale validation to pilot manufacturing. We are seeking a Research Associate to execute our scientific strategy. You will lead the development of deep-tech innovations designed to solve the stubble burning crisis at scale. You will own the R&D roadmap, intellectual property landscape, and the technical execution of our biomass valorization technologies.

Perks:

  • Co-inventor on patents.
  • Founding team ESOPs.
  • Freedom to lead your own polymer platform from lab bench to IP to industrial deployment.
  • Opportunities to present innovations at top conferences and global summits, apply for fellowships, lead pilots, and be featured in press.
  • Shape India's most ambitious agrowaste-to-biomaterials movement, with direct impact on stubble burning, air quality, and Carbon reduction in Industrials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments related to biomass fractionation, solvent extraction, and chemical derivatization of lignocellulosic materials.
  • Optimize reaction parameters (temperature, pressure, residence time, catalysts) to maximize yield and purity for industrial scalability.
  • Operate and maintain bench-scale and pilot-scale equipment, including jacketed reactors, rotary evaporators, and filtration units.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of reaction products using standard analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, FTIR) to validate process efficiency.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation of experimental data. Lead the drafting of technical specifications for process and composition patents.
  • Collaborate with the founding team to translate lab-scale protocols into standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the pilot plant.

Requirements:

  • Education: M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech in Chemical Engineering specializing in Organic Chemistry/Catalysis/Green Chemistry (Mandatory), PhD is a plus.
  • Proven research track record in Lignocellulosic Biomass, Bio-based catalysis, Solvent extraction, or Green Chemistry.
  • Strong understanding of the patent filing process and deep-tech commercialization.
  • Practical experience with pilot plants, jacketed reactors, and downstream processing equipment.
  • Must be a self-starter with a strong bias for fast execution.
  • Notice Period: 15 days.
