Applications are invited for two positions of Research Assistant for six months on the project, Comparing Value Circuits and Governance Networks on E-Waste in Hyderabad and Delhi: Sustainable Implications, funded by ICSSR under the supervision of Dr. Harsh Mittal and Prof. Bhuvaneswari Raman.
Primary Responsibilities:
Fieldwork including data collection, analysis, and report writing.
Essential Qualifications:
MA (or equivalent) in Public Policy, Urban Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Human Geography, Development Studies, Public Administration, and allied disciplines.
An undergraduate degree leading to relevant research experience of at least one year would also be considered.
Desirable Qualifications:
Well-versed in qualitative research methods.
Ability and willingness to engage in fieldwork for long periods.
Experience in conducting field-research in urban settings and reporting on it.
Working knowledge across Hindi/Telugu/Dakhni; fluency in English.
Place of work: BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, India. One research assistant working in Hyderabad will be reporting to Dr. Harsh Mittal. The other, based in Delhi, will report to Prof. Bhuvaneswari Raman.
Fellowship amount: 37,000 per month (based on research experience).
Duration: Six months (extendable up to 1 year based on performance and subject to funding).
