Role Description
We are looking for a dynamic R&D professional for Product & Process Development (PPD) activities. The candidate will be responsible for product development, process optimization, Prototyping, plant trials, commercialization, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and continuous product improvement.
Responsibilities
- Handle product and process development activities for new and existing products.
- Conduct lab trials, pilot trials, and plant trials for commercialization.
- Work on formulation development, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with Production, QA, Packaging, Procurement, and Marketing teams during product development and launch activities.
- Evaluate new ingredients, flavours, preservatives, and other raw materials.
- Perform laboratory analysis for product designing and to set desired parameters.
- Maintain product documentation including formulations, BOM, specifications, SOPs, and trial reports.
- Conduct sensory evaluation and benchmarking studies.
- Support cost optimization and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in Bakery Industry R&D or Product Development.
- Hands-on experience in product development (cakes, cookies, cake premixes), process trials, and commercialization activities.
- Good understanding of food ingredients, flavours, preservatives, and processing parameters in the cake/cookies industry.
- Experience in categories such as bakery, confectionery, oil and fats, cake premixes, or convenience foods will be preferred.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and coordination skills.
- Good understanding of sensory techniques and product shelf-life studies.
- Knowledge of SAP or documentation systems will be an added advantage.
