The Applied R&D Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW / HW / system components and capitalizes on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications.

Your responsibilities

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated professional with strong proficiency in Python, to join our team as an R&D Engineer for Zuul Gating Solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the architecture, solution design, and end-to-end development of Zuul-based CI/CD gating systems across projects and teams. You should have hands-on experience with Ansible, Linux system administration, and scripting languages such as Bash. The role demands deep understanding and seamless integration of Zuul with tools like Gerrit, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and artifact repositories.

As an R&D Engineer, you will work with developers in areas such as Zuul architecture, job creation, pipeline design, and CI/CD best practices. You will be expected to resolve complex issues actively, contribute to the continuous improvement of the tool ecosystem, and drive innovation through the evaluation and implementation of new features within Zuul. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial to ensure the gating architecture aligns with broader DevOps and business goals.

The candidate must possess excellent problem-solving abilities, a proactive mindset, and strong communication skills to thrive in a team-oriented environment. Experience with Git technologies and branching strategies is essential.

You Have :

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in R&D and proficient in Python
• Proficiency in Ansible, Linux administration, and scripting languages (e.g., Bash).
• Hands-on exposure in SCM/CI methodologies, DevOps tools (Eg, Jenkins, Zuul, K8s, etc)
• Exposure to AI/ML algorithms.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts with exposure to Python-based machine learning or generative AI tools.
