Job Description Research Analyst

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

To be responsible for conducting enhanced due diligence research as well as in-depth analysis of potential reputational or compliance risk, and preparing an accurate and complete report based on the findings and client's requirements.

Major Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

Writing due diligence reports in a timely manner on subjects (Company/Individuals) across the globe for the varying business and/or compliance requirements of our clients. Review, summarize and analyse media articles/company filings, retrieved from open media search, online databases, judiciary and other government departments etc on the subject of investigation. Our reports aim to identify any potential risk factors associated on the subject of investigation so our clients can make informed decisions - no client advice is required, just reporting the facts available from within the public domain. An ability to accurately filter information quickly and to empathize with our client's requirements to ensure a quality and timely product is always delivered.

Research Analysts tasks may include:

  • Conduct media and Internet searches on companies and individuals in English and a second language
  • To investigate official sources (registrars, regulators, courts, etc.) for information on companies and individuals
  • To cooperate with external vendors (verification of provided information, placing them in a report)
  • To analyze the collected information with a view to reputational, financial and integrity risk (sanctions, corruption, bribery, money laundering, terrorism financing, regulatory violations, etc.)
  • To prepare comprehensive reports in English and/or in foreign languages, which are:
  • in a standardized format
  • in accordance with our internal Research Methodology and Style Guide
  • meeting client specific requirements
  • delivered on time

Qualifications/Skills

  • To hold a relevant professional qualification or post-graduate qualification or university degree preferably in international relations, political science, legal studies or business management.
  • Hindi language proficiency preferable.
  • Preferably one year of Compliance, Due Diligence or AML/KYC or similar experience.
  • Excellent written and analysis skills including the ability to summarise complex information clearly and concisely from another language into English.
  • The ability to work in a highly challenging, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
  • Strong research skills, including online search tools
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills prior experience in research/editorial roles is an advantage.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and handle volumes of work
  • Be a team player with a high level of initiative and proactive approach to work
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and issues
  • Knowledge of and interest in international affairs
