The role

KRMU generates a large volume of academic data across five schools and 10,000+ students. This role builds that data into a continuous, decision-ready asset: a live view of how courses, cohorts and programmes are performing, available at any point in the year rather than assembled for a reporting cycle.

This is an analytics role. It is not a faculty position and not a documentation role.

What you own

•The academic baseline. A five-year course-level dataset: enrolment, grade distributions, pass/fail/withdrawal rates, backlog generation — by course, section, instructor, programme and cohort. Deliver the ranked list of courses by total student-failures.

•A standing dashboard, refreshed on a fixed cadence rather than on request: cohort progression, time-to-degree, attrition, backlog inventory, faculty load, placement conversion.

•Measurement of interventions. Design the before/after comparison for any academic change the University makes, build sensible comparison groups, and report honestly when something did not work.

•Pipelines and definitions. Extract from ERP and examination systems, reconcile inconsistent identifiers, and document standard metric definitions so terms mean one thing across offices.

Required

•3–7 years as a data, business or research analyst. Any sector — fintech, consulting, e-commerce, edtech, policy analytics.

•Strong SQL; Python (pandas) or R.

•A BI tool in production: Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, Looker Studio.

•Experience building a dataset out of unreliable operational systems, not only analysing clean data handed to you.

•Ability to write a two-page memo a non-technical Dean will act on.

Preferred: exposure to student information systems or examination data; cohort analysis; quasi-experimental comparison design.

Not required: a PhD, teaching experience, or prior work in higher education.
