Role Summary:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Enterprise DR Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and managing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity solutions to ensure critical business services can be recovered within agreed Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Architect shall perform the following activities aligned to the proposed DR solution and Client's current set up:

• Validate DR design documentation provided by third-party implementation partner. Where needed create appropriate documentation as needed to implement and support the DR.
• Lead infrastructure recovery requirements.
• Propose recovery strategies against defined RTO and RPO objectives.
• Propose workload classification and grouping methodology
• Design disaster recovery sequencing and dependency mapping for infra and network layer. Provide guidance to the applications team wrt managing the sequencing and dependency mapping.
• Work with THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER to ensure that DR failover and failback approaches suits Client's needs
• Prepare and produce appropriate DR runbooks, operational procedures and recovery documentation. Provide guidance and support the applications team to enable them crate runbooks, operational procedures and recovery documentation
• Provide risk-based recommendations and improvement opportunities.
• Define & produce relevant operational artefacts (e.g. a DR Operations Playbook) that cover end-to-end DR operational processes. Some of these processes include, but are not limited to - DR scenarios, DR triggers and its SOPs, Failover processes, Failback processes, frequent DR testing, end-to-end governance & monitoring.

The Architect Shall:

• Produce High-Level Designs (HLD) & Low-Level Designs (LLD) for implementations needed in Client's environment.
• Validate High-Level Designs (HLD) & Low-Level Designs (LLD) provided by third-party implementation partner.
• Validate implementation plans submitted by third-party implementation partner.
• Produce operational readiness deliverables for current Client environment. Validate operational readiness deliverables from THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER
• Work with THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER and prepare test plans and acceptance criteria.
• Provide risk mitigation approaches.
• Produce infrastructure readiness requirements for current Client environment. Review infrastructure readiness requirements from THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER.
• Architecture Governance & Assurance
  
  

The Solution Architect Shall:

• Review overall Nutanix DR solution architecture proposed by third-party implementation partner.
• Review THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER solution's architectural alignment with Client infrastructure, security and operational requirements. Where needed architect shall produce relevant architectures in consultation with THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER and current Client infra support teams.
• Ensure architectural completeness risks and dependencies.
• Design for workload protection coverage for server and VDI platforms.
• Work with THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER to design architecture against business continuity and resilience objectives.
• Ensure completeness of recovery scenarios, recovery dependencies and service recovery priorities.
• Ensure architecture scalability, maintainability and operational supportability.
• Stakeholder Co-ordination
  
  

The Architect, for the purpose of architecture reviews, requirement gathering, design clarifications and governance activities, shall coordinate and engage with:

• Client Infrastructure Manager and Project Manager
• Client BAU Support Team from Zensar
• Client Security Team
• THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER
• Testing Governance & Quality Assurance
  
  

The Architect Shall:

• Produce testing methodology along with THIRD PARTY SUPPLIER and Client teams.
• Produce DR testing scenarios and guide Client teams to produce relevant DR test cases
• Provide guidance during test execution.
• Validate test outcomes against agreed objectives.
• Provide architecture readiness recommendations.
• Operational Readiness & Handover Governance
  
  

The Architect Shall:

• Review operational handover documentation created and provided by third-party implementation partner. Where needed, architect shall produce relevant operational document covering end-to-end DR processes that needs to be signed off by Client stakeholders mentioned above.
• Review supports readiness.
• Ensure monitoring and operational support requirements and implemented and documented.
• Assess deployment readiness.
• Ensure the current Operation teams are provided all knowledge and artefacts to execute the DR processes.
• Provide architecture acceptance recommendations.
  
  

Final business acceptance and production approval wherever needed shall remain the responsibility of Client.

To support the Nutanix DR implementation activities, involved Infrastructure DR Engineer (Nutanix / VMware / Windows) to execute infrastructure readiness, recovery planning and testing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• The Nutanix DR Solution Architect shall:
• Provide functional guidance and technical direction to the infrastructure support Engineer throughout the engagement.
• Coordinate, prioritize, track, and govern the execution of infrastructure-related activities required to support the Nutanix DR implementation.
• Review and monitor completion of infrastructure discovery, dependency assessment, and readiness activities.
• Govern the preparation of Nutanix, VMware, Windows Server, and associated infrastructure prerequisites required by the third-party implementation partner.
• Review infrastructure recovery sequencing, dependency mapping, and recovery runbooks prepared by the Infrastructure DR Engineer.
• Track readiness of core infrastructure services, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Authentication Services, File Services, and Infrastructure Management Systems.
• Govern and monitor infrastructure participation in replication, failover, failback, and recovery validation testing activities.
• Facilitate issue resolution, risk escalation, and stakeholder coordination related to infrastructure DR readiness.
• Review and report status, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress of infrastructure workstreams to Client project stakeholders.
• For clarity, the Infrastructure DR Engineer shall remain responsible for execution of assigned engineering activities, while the Nutanix DR Solution Architect shall provide governance, oversight, coordination, and technical assurance of the infrastructure workstream.
• The governance responsibility described above shall be limited to Zensar-assigned project resources only and shall not extend to the management, supervision, or governance of Client personnel, or any other customer-appointed third-party personnel.
