Job Description

The Reliability Engineer supports Chevron Australia LNG projects by producing complete and accurate maintenance build datasets aligned with company standards. This role provides Operational Readiness Maintenance Build execution for Chevron Australia's LNG assets, delivering high-quality maintenance build packages aligned with Chevron standards. The role works collaboratively across project phases to prepare complete and accurate maintenance build datasets prior to startup, enabling smooth transition into operations. This position focuses on maintenance content preparation, asset hierarchy creation, master data assignment, criticality assessment, maintenance strategy assignment, spare parts determination, and load sheet development.

The Reliability Engineer prepares data that will ultimately be loaded by the CMMS team, but does not perform CMMS loading, configuration or administration. up, enabling smooth transition into operations. This position focuses on data preparation, asset hierarchy creation, criticality assessment, strategy implementation, cataloguing, and loadsheet development not on system administration (SAP/JDE). The engineer prepares data that will ultimately be consumed by the CMMS team but does not perform CMMS configuration or administration.

The role directly contributes to several stages of the CMMS Maintenance Build, specifically:

  • Review / Assign Maintenance Strategies that support safe optimized cost and production aligned with function criticality.
  • Demonstrated understanding of RCM / FMECA type processes
  • Develop asset registers hierarchies.
  • Perform criticality assessments and facilitate workshops.
  • Assign asset strategies provided by Operations Reliability.
  • Conduct spares analysis.
  • Author maintenance work instructions if required.
  • Prepare CMMS load templates.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards as well as applicable Chevron standards, instructions, and guidelines
  • Leverage historical operation, reliability, and maintenance data for use in maintenance builds

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of Reliability Engineering / Maintenance Build experience in a LNG or complex processing facility
  • Understanding of Process Safety and its application in the oil & gas or chemical processing industry will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance builds for major Oil & Gas operators is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing the maintenance dataset required for new and modified systems will be highly regarded
  • Familiarity with asset management frameworks and maintenance strategy development
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation ability and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with Equipment criticality assignment, asset strategies, master data.
  • Strong understanding of asset hierarchy, criticality ranking, and strategy execution.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, vendor packages, datasheets, SPIR's and engineering documents.
  • High proficiency in Excel for structured datasets and load sheet preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail and high data accuracy standards.
  • Ability to work independently on large tag counts with predictable throughput.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
