Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and allocate reliability requirements at system and subsystem levels.
- Use modelling, simulation and data analytics methodologies & tools including statistical and probabilistic analyses.
- Perform reliability analyses including:
- Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA)
- Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- Serve as a technical specialist supporting other functional design groups during all stages of the airplane product development and support lifecycle.
- Responsible for aiding in determining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability & maintenance cost.
- Provide support in the following areas:
- Design for Reliability & Safety (airplane and system design reliability requirements validation & verification, reliability requirements allocation to suppliers, failure modes, rates, effects, propagation and detection analysis, architecture & operational provisions, safety & certification analysis, certification support, reliability & durability testing).
- Interaction with airplane system suppliers, business partners, airline customers, airplane development program leaders, and functional management is typical, as is a high level of communication between the rest of the R&M Engineering internal organization, program teams, and functional design areas. Team involvement and individual effort, problem solving, and managing multiple actions and assignments will be regular duties for an R&M engineer.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 310+ years of experience in aerospace reliability or aircraft systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems (ATA chapters)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with propulsion or airplane systems
- Reliability engineering experience.
- Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) experience.
- Knowledge of commercial aircraft programs is preferred
