Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Relationship Manager role based in Salem. The Relationship Manager will identify, acquire, and manage customers seeking affordable housing and loan against property products, ensuring a strong and sustainable portfolio. Responsibilities include meeting prospective customers, understanding their financial needs, explaining product features, and guiding them through documentation and the loan application process. The role will also involve coordinating with credit, operations, and collections teams, conducting regular field visits, and maintaining strong post-disbursement relationships to ensure timely repayments and customer satisfaction. The Relationship Manager will track market trends, build relationships with local connectors and channel partners, and contribute to achieving branch-level business and portfolio quality targets.
Qualifications
- Strong customer relationship management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage with self-employed and retail customers.
- Basic understanding of retail lending, housing finance products, and credit assessment for informal income profiles.
- Proficiency in documentation checks, field verification, and coordination with internal teams for smooth loan processing.
- Effective communication skills in English and local language, with the ability to explain financial products clearly and build trust.
- Comfort with field-based work, local market visits, and relationship-building with connectors, builders, and channel partners.
- Ability to work toward defined sales targets while maintaining portfolio quality and compliance with company policies.
- Undergraduate degree in any discipline; a degree in finance, business, or related fields is an advantage.
- Prior experience in housing finance, microfinance, or retail lending in similar customer segments is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, loan management systems or CRM tools) and willingness to learn internal systems.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and customer-centric mindset aligned with affordable housing objectives.
