Role Overview:
The Relationship Manager — Fixed Income (Retail) will be responsible for building and managing a portfolio of individual retail investors, helping them access and invest in fixed-income products such as corporate bonds, NCDs, The role requires a strong understanding of debt market products, excellent communication skills, and a client-first approach to financial advisory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Acquisition & Lead Generation
- Drive new client acquisition through referrals, digital outreach, LinkedIn, email campaigns, and in-branch walk-ins.
- Identify and prospect retail investors through networking events, community outreach, and partnership channels.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to consistently meet monthly and quarterly acquisition targets.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop long-term, trust-based relationships with retail clients through regular engagement — in-person meetings, phone calls, and digital communication.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all fixed-income investment queries and portfolio reviews.
- Ensure a superior client experience at every touchpoint, from onboarding to post-sale servicing.
Investment Advisory & Product Suitability
- Assess each client's financial goals, investment horizon, liquidity needs, and risk appetite to recommend suitable fixed-income products.
- Educate retail clients on the features, risks, and returns of corporate bonds, NCDs, G-Secs, tax-free bonds, and fixed deposits.
- Prepare personalised investment proposals and portfolio summaries tailored to individual client profiles.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Achieve assigned AUM mobilisation and revenue targets through active client engagement and product penetration.
- Cross-sell and upsell relevant investment products to existing clients based on evolving financial needs.
- Identify opportunities for wallet-share expansion within the existing client base.
Market Intelligence & Communication
- Track debt market movements, RBI policy announcements, credit rating changes, and new bond issuances to keep clients informed.
- Share timely market updates, product alerts, and investment insights with clients through calls, emails, and WhatsApp communication.
- Conduct in-person or virtual investment awareness sessions and product presentations for retail audiences.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all client interactions and transactions adhere to SEBI regulations, KYC norms, and internal compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, transaction logs, and interaction notes in the CRM system.
- Coordinate with operations and settlement teams to ensure seamless execution and timely delivery of client orders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–6 years of experience in financial product sales, wealth management, or fixed-income advisory.
- Solid understanding of fixed-income instruments — corporate bonds, NCDs, SDLs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CRM tools.
