Job Description

A Relationship Manager for Current Accounts is responsible for acquiring new business customers, managing existing client relationships, and growing the business relationship through cross-selling banking products and services. Key duties include achieving sales targets for current accounts, acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing financial advice, ensuring customer satisfaction, and handling customer inquiries and issues. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Client Acquisition: Acquire new business entity customers and build a current account book of business.
  • Relationship Management: Deepen and maintain relationships with existing clients by being their dedicated point of contact and ensuring high service standards.
  • Sales and Growth: Cross-sell other banking products and services to current account customers to increase the size of the relationship and achieve sales targets.
  • Customer Service: Address customer complaints and queries, and provide solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Financial Guidance: Advise clients on banking products and solutions to meet their financial needs and goals.
  • Account Monitoring: Monitor customer accounts and ensure compliance with bank policies. 

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Sales and Relationship Building: Experience in sales, especially with current accounts, and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Financial Acumen: Good understanding of banking products and services.
  • Customer Focus: A client-centric approach with a focus on providing excellent service.
  • Drive and Initiative: Motivated with a proactive approach to meeting targets and solving problems.
  • Education: Requires a bachelor's degree, often in business, finance, or a related field.
