Role Summary
The Regulatory & Policy Lead will be responsible for anchoring regulatory intelligence across taxation, financial compliance, lending norms, and MSME policy frameworks — and translating them into product logic, market positioning, and risk-aware execution. This is an individual contributor role with high ownership and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Intelligence & Policy Analysis
- Track and interpret changes across:
- Direct Tax (Income Tax, TDS, reporting requirements)
- Indirect Tax (GST, e-invoicing, returns, reconciliations)
- MSME schemes and policy frameworks
- RBI and lending compliance norms
- Financial reporting and regulatory disclosures
- Global regulatory landscape
- Prepare structured impact assessments for internal teams.
- Maintain a dynamic regulatory knowledge repository.
- Identify compliance risks and policy-driven product opportunities.
- Product & Business Logic Translation
- Convert regulatory requirements into functional specifications.
- Define business rules, eligibility logic, validation checks, workflows, and edge cases.
- Review BRDs and user stories for regulatory alignment.
- Participate in UAT and functional testing.
- Ensure platform outputs are compliant and financially accurate.
- Finance & Compliance Workflow Alignment
- Align platform modules with MSME accounting workflows (invoicing, receivables, tax computation, reporting).
- Validate financial calculations and compliance summaries.
- Support ERP and data integration logic from a regulatory standpoint.
- Insight & Ecosystem Support
- Support Marketing with policy explainers and insight notes.
- Assist Partnerships in regulatory positioning during stakeholder discussions.
- Contribute to whitepapers, webinars, and compliance thought leadership.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Candidate should have 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience
- Qualification: CA / CMA / MBA preferred
Must Have
- Strong understanding of direct and indirect tax.
- Exposure to financial compliance and lending ecosystem.
- Ability to independently interpret regulatory notifications.
- Experience working with product or technology teams.
- Strong documentation and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Self-driven and ownership-oriented.
Good To Have
- Experience in RegTech / FinTech / SaaS.
- Exposure to testing and compliance validation.
- Familiarity with APIs, data structures, and workflow logic.
