About the Role
We are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Lawyer (Freelancer) with experience working with U.S. and Indian legal and regulatory frameworks to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on compliance analysis, regulatory interpretation, policy review, risk assessment, legal research, and compliance monitoring.
In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated outputs related to regulatory requirements, compliance obligations, governance frameworks, risk management, and legal reasoning workflows. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for regulatory intelligence, compliance automation, legal research, and risk assessment.
This position is ideal for lawyers with experience at U.S. and/or Indian law firms, corporate legal departments, consulting firms, or compliance functions advising on regulatory and compliance matters.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing common regulatory compliance and legal research scenarios
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated compliance analyses, regulatory research, and policy interpretation outputs
- Assess AI outputs for legal accuracy, regulatory alignment, logical reasoning, and compliance completeness
- Review AI-generated compliance assessments, regulatory reports, governance frameworks, and risk analyses
- Identify compliance gaps, regulatory risks, interpretation errors, policy inconsistencies, and legal deficiencies in AI-generated content
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in compliance and regulatory workflows
- Support projects involving regulatory research, compliance monitoring, policy reviews, governance assessments, and risk management
- Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI systems focused on regulatory intelligence and compliance operations
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, or equivalent law degree
- 5+ years of experience in Regulatory Compliance, Corporate Compliance, Financial Regulations, Risk & Compliance, or related legal functions
- Experience working with U.S. and/or Indian law firms, corporate legal departments, consulting firms, or regulatory compliance teams
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, governance requirements, risk management principles, and compliance obligations
- Experience conducting regulatory research, compliance reviews, policy assessments, or risk evaluations
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting, internal controls, compliance monitoring, and legal documentation
- Understanding of U.S. and Indian regulatory environments and legal compliance requirements
- Strong analytical thinking, legal reasoning, and attention to detail
- Excellent written English communication skills
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated legal and compliance outputs for accuracy and consistency
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advising clients on regulatory compliance, governance, internal controls, or risk management frameworks
- Familiarity with financial services regulations, corporate compliance programs, privacy regulations, anti-corruption laws, or industry-specific compliance requirements
- Experience with compliance management systems, regulatory research platforms, or governance tools
- Exposure to cross-border regulatory matters involving U.S. and Indian jurisdictions
- Prior experience reviewing complex compliance assessments, regulatory filings, or governance documentation is advantageous
