The Regulation Officer will work as part of a collaborative global regulatory team, supporting RICS proactive, risk-based approach to regulation.

With primary responsibility for South and South-East Asia, the role will have overall accountability for the day-to-day delivery of regulatory activity in the region, while also contributing to regulatory activity globally under the supervision of the Regulatory Manager, Rest of World.

The role plays a key part in maintaining confidence in qualified professionals and regulated firms through effective monitoring, investigation, guidance and engagement.

As a Regulation Officer, you will:

Support the delivery of RICS proactive, risk-based regulation, including monitoring, investigation and disciplinary casework in line with quality standards and KPIs.

Manage Registration & Compliance activity across Firm Registration and Valuer Registration Schemes, including support for the annual CPD compliance campaign.

Review and analyse regulatory intelligence, enquiries and concerns to identify potential breaches of the Rules of Conduct and progress or escalate matters appropriately.

Gather and assess evidence to support objective, fact-based investigations into potential regulatory breaches.

Provide clear written and verbal regulatory guidance to professionals, regulated firms and the public, supporting ongoing compliance and confidence in the profession.

Receive and respond to concerns about qualified professionals or firms, offering guidance and appropriate support to those raising concerns.

Contribute to the development and delivery of regulatory initiatives, programmes and monitoring exercises informed by risk and intelligence.

Support wider regulatory activity through enquiry handling, regulatory data management and ad-hoc duties aligned to the role.

Work collaboratively across the Asia Pacific regulatory teams to support shared objectives, stakeholder engagement and annual compliance activity.

You will be analytical, professional and confident working in a regulatory or compliance-focused environment, with the ability to apply sound judgement and communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will have:

Experience working to quality and quantity-based KPIs.

A background in surveying, accountancy, property management, regulation, law enforcement or a similar environment.

Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Confidence conducting telephone and face-to-face interviews with professionals and managing unpredictable or sensitive responses professionally.

An understanding of Better Regulation principles and a risk-based, arms-length regulatory model.

Desirable:

A degree or equivalent professional experience.

Strong IT skills, including MS Office applications and data-entry systems (experience with D365/CE is advantageous).
