Registrar Victoria University, Gurugram

Role Overview
The Registrar will serve as a senior institutional leader responsible for academic administration, governance, and regulatory compliance for the Victoria University Gurugram campus.
This is a foundational leadership role in a greenfield international campus, responsible for establishing robust academic systems, ensuring compliance with Indian regulatory bodies, and maintaining Victoria University's global academic standards in close coordination with the home campus in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Administration & Governance
- Lead and oversee enrolment management, academic calendar planning, course scheduling, examinations, and certification processes.
- Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and compliance of all academic records and student data.
- Serve as Secretary to statutory academic bodies, including Academic Council, Boards of Studies, and Examination Committees.
- Establish governance frameworks aligned with Victoria University's global academic policies and Indian regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with UGC, AICTE, NAAC, NIRF, and other applicable Indian regulatory authorities.
- Lead accreditation processes, regulatory filings, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Drive academic quality assurance systems, programme reviews, and internal academic audits.
- Maintain alignment with Victoria University's academic standards, quality frameworks, and global policies.
Student Policy & Academic Conduct
- Develop and implement academic policies related to progression, credit transfer, attendance, grading, and academic integrity.
- Oversee processes for graduation eligibility, academic appeals, grievances, and disciplinary proceedings.
- Ensure fair and transparent academic decision-making consistent with institutional policies.
Institutional Oversight
- Draft and implement academic policies, statutes, regulations, and operating procedures for the campus.
- Manage regulatory inspections, compliance audits, and academic reporting requirements.
- Contribute to strategic planning, institutional development, and operational governance of the campus.
- Represent Victoria University Gurugram in regulatory, academic, and sectoral forums.
Experience
- 1012 years of experience in higher education administration.
- Minimum 5+ years in a senior role such as Registrar, Deputy Registrar, or equivalent academic administration leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the Indian higher education regulatory ecosystem.
- Experience working with international universities, transnational education, or international branch campuses preferred.
- Prior experience in setting up new institutions or academic systems is highly desirable.
Education
- Master's or Doctoral degree from a recognised university.
- Additional certifications in higher education governance, academic administration, or quality assurance are desirable.
Key Competencies
- Deep expertise in UGC, AICTE, NAAC, NIRF frameworks and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with academic ERP / Student Information Systems (SIS) platforms.
- Strong documentation accuracy and regulatory reporting capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi-regulatory, international academic environment.
