This is a senior role responsible for shaping, leading and converting strategic tender opportunities across the Buildings & Places market. A defining requirement of this role is the ability to operate both strategically and practically. Your role

As Regional Win Work Director, you will take ownership of bidding strategy and delivery across the region, ensuring that opportunities are effectively qualified, positioned and converted. You will develop clear win strategies, shape opportunities early in the client lifecycle and lead priority bids through to submission. You will work closely with Regional Leadership and the Client Development Team to bring structure, pace and discipline to bidding activity, leading priority bids and setting the standard for what high-quality, winning submissions look like across the region.

Bidding Strategy and Performance

  • Lead the strategy, qualification and delivery of bids across the regional portfolio.
  • Own Go/No-Go decisions and define clear, proportionate routes to win.
  • Ensure bids are aligned to client drivers, evaluation criteria and commercial objectives.
  • Maintain accountability for the quality, consistency and performance of all strategic submissions.

End-to-End Bid Leadership

  • Personally lead priority and must-win bids from early shaping through to submission.
  • Structure responses, write key sections and drive the overall narrative and quality.
  • Translate complex technical solutions into clear, compelling and client-focused submissions.
  • Manage bid programmes, ensuring pace, focus and quality are maintained throughout.
  • Work closely with the Client Development Team to maximise the effectiveness of bid delivery.

Opportunity Shaping and Capture

  • Engage early with Client Directors and account teams to shape opportunities ahead of procurement.
  • In collaboration with our Client Development team and local account managers, ensure proactive client engagement to position priority pursuits, including effective capture planning.
  • Support the development of win themes aligned to client need.

Collaboration, Leadership & Winning Delivery

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to support successful bid delivery.
  • Provide clear direction and leadership to bid teams, ensuring focus on the right priorities.
  • Work closely with Practice Directors and technical teams to ensure strong, deliverable solutions.
  • Set the standard for bid quality across the region.
  • Support regional pipeline development and forward visibility of opportunities.
  • Contribute to national bidding activity where regional leadership or input is required.
  • Work with regional leadership to track and prioritise must-win bids.

About you

  • Proven track record of leading and winning complex technical bids end-to-end, not just contributing or reviewing.
  • Significant experience in bid management, bid writing and bid leadership within the built environment, infrastructure or related sectors.
  • Strong ability to develop clear win strategies and translate these into high-quality submissions.
  • Experience of writing and reviewing tender responses that score highly against structured evaluation criteria.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement, frameworks and competitive tendering processes.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and influence decision making.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including understanding of pricing, risk and value propositions.
  • Experience within a leading consultancy, contractor or similar multidisciplinary organisation.
  • Exposure to Buildings & Places services such as design, engineering, programme management or advisory.
  • A strong track record of converting opportunities into successful outcomes.
  • High standards in written communication, with a focus on clarity, structure and client impact.
  • Confidence to challenge and improve bid approaches.
  • The ability to bring together teams and maintain focus on what drives success.
  • A collaborative leadership style across regional and national teams.
