Summary

Position Summary

Regional Vice President (RVP) - Growth, India & SWA will be responsible for driving Hyatt's strategic development and expansion plans across the India & SWA region. This role will drive the identification, negotiation, and execution of new hotel opportunities, including management agreements, franchise signings, conversions, and strategic partnerships, to strengthen Hyatt's presence and market share across key markets within India & SWA.

Reporting to the Vice President - Growth, India & SWA, the role will collaborate closely with regional leadership, country representatives, and cross-functional teams across operations, finance, feasibility, legal, design services, commercial services, and human resources to ensure disciplined and sustainable growth aligned with Hyatt's long-term strategic priorities and brand positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Growth & Development

  • Lead and execute Hyatt's growth and expansion strategy across India & Southwest Asia (SWA), ensuring alignment with Hyatt's global strategic priorities and regional market dynamics.

  • Deliver targeted Net Rooms Growth (NRG) and strengthen Hyatt's market presence in line with established market prioritization, pipeline planning, and brand deployment strategies.

  • Drive new hotel signings, conversions, management agreements, franchise opportunities, and strategic partnerships across multiple brands and market segments.

  • Identify emerging market opportunities, investment trends, and competitive dynamics to support scalable and sustainable expansion in India & SWA.

Deal Origination, Structuring & Pipeline Management

  • Drive sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of hotel development opportunities across India & SWA.

  • Oversee deal structuring, commercial negotiations, feasibility assessments, and financial evaluations to ensure commercially viable and strategically aligned growth.

  • Build and maintain a robust, high-quality development pipeline with strong conversion rates and disciplined execution.

  • Ensure effective tracking, risk mitigation, and timely progression of projects from signing through opening.

Owner, Investor & Partner Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term, value-driven relationships with hotel owners, developers, investors, consultants, and strategic partners across India & SWA.

  • Serve as the primary relationship leader for key ownership groups and development partners, fostering trust, alignment, and repeat business opportunities.

  • Strengthening Hyatt's reputation as a preferred hospitality partner through proactive engagement, commercial negotiations, and exceptional stakeholder management.

  • Represent Hyatt with credibility and professionalism across internal and external stakeholder groups.

Brand Focus & Positioning

  • Ensure the strategic fit, quality, and long-term value of all new developments in alignment with Hyatt's brand focused strategy.

  • Balance growth ambitions with operational feasibility, commercial viability, and brand alignment across segments and markets.

  • Strengthen competitive positioning by leveraging market intelligence, data, and competitive insights to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

  • Support the optimization of Hyatt's brand mix and expansion strategy to maximize long-term portfolio performance.

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Drive the achievement of growth-related financial objectives, including fee generation, pipeline productivity, and capital-efficient expansion.

  • Ensure development activities contribute to sustainable and profitable growth while supporting Hyatt's broader business objectives.

  • Monitor commercial performance indicators and support decision-making through disciplined financial and market analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, finance, legal, feasibility, design services, commercial services, and human resources to support successful project development and execution.

  • Ensure seamless integration of development priorities with operational readiness, brand standards, owner expectations, and enterprise priorities.

Leadership

  • Build a high-performing and collaborative team culture focused on accountability, innovation, and execution excellence.

  • Support the VP - Growth, India & SWA in capability building across India & SWA growth function.

  • Foster strong market connectivity, strategic thinking, and commercial acumen within the team to support Hyatt's long-term expansion objectives.

Enterprise Leadership & Culture

  • Champion Hyatt's purpose, values, and leadership behaviors across all interactions and business activities.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusivity, and performance excellence across India & SWA.

  • Contribute as an enterprise leader by implementing regional strategy, organizational priorities, and long-term value creation.

  • Ensure Hyatt's expansion across India & SWA is ambitious, scalable, sustainable, and aligned with Hyatt's reputation as a leading hospitality company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Hospitality Management, Real Estate, Finance, Sales & Marketing, or a related discipline required.

  • 12-15+ years of experience in hotel development, hospitality expansion, real estate, investment, or related commercial functions.

  • Proven track record in driving hotel signings, management agreements, franchise development, conversions, and strategic partnerships across multiple markets.

  • Strong understanding of the hospitality landscape across India & SWA, including market dynamics, owner ecosystems, regulatory environments, and competitive trends.

  • Experience in negotiations, deal structuring, feasibility analysis, and development pipeline management.

  • Demonstrated success in building and managing relationships with hotel owners, developers, investors, consultants, and strategic partners.

  • Experience working within a matrixed, multi-market, and cross-functional organization preferred.

  • Exposure to multi-brand hospitality environments and luxury, lifestyle, and select-service segments would be an advantage.
