Role Description The Regional Scout is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhubaneswar, responsible for identifying and evaluating new regional business opportunities, suppliers, and partners in the home décor and construction ecosystem. This role involves visiting target markets, builders, architects, interior designers, and distributors to understand their requirements and introduce Clay by Lingaraj's product portfolio. The Regional Scout will conduct regular field visits to map potential territories, gather market intelligence on competitors and product trends, and report actionable insights to the sales and procurement teams. Daily tasks include maintaining a structured pipeline of leads, coordinating product demonstrations and showroom visits, and supporting negotiations in collaboration with senior team members. The role also requires preparing concise reports, updating CRM or tracking tools, and working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in field scouting, business development, sales, or vendor sourcing, preferably in building materials, home décor, real estate, or related industries.
- Strong market research and territory mapping abilities, with skills in collecting, organizing, and interpreting on-ground data.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with architects, designers, builders, and channel partners.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage time efficiently, and meet clear visit, lead generation, and reporting targets.
- Comfort with basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, CRM or lead trackers, mapping apps) and willingness to learn internal systems.
- Good understanding or strong interest in home décor, materials, and design trends, with an eye for quality and aesthetics.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant experience can compensate for formal education.
- Fluency in English and local languages, with a valid license and readiness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
