Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, market
expansion, and profitability across the assigned region. The role involves developing and
executing regional sales strategies, managing key customer relationships, strengthening
channel partnerships, leading and developing the sales team, and ensuring effective sales
operations through forecasting, pipeline management, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)
1. Sales Strategy / Plan Development & Execution
Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with organizational
objectives.
Translate annual business plans into actionable regional sales plans.
Drive achievement of revenue, volume, and profitability targets.
Identify growth opportunities across customer segments and product lines.
2. Sales Forecasting & Pipeline Management
Own and manage accurate sales forecasting for the region.
Build, track, and review the sales pipeline to ensure consistent order flow.
Conduct regular pipeline reviews with the sales team to assess deal progress and
conversion ratios.
Ensure timely closure of opportunities and adherence to sales processes.
3. Customer Relationship Management
Manage and strengthen relationships with key accounts, OEMs, and strategic
customers.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and issue
resolution.
Participate in key customer meetings, negotiations, and contract finalizations.
Drive long-term partnerships and repeat business.
4. Channel Management
Develop, manage, and expand channel partners, distributors, and system integrators.
Define channel strategies and ensure effective market coverage.
Support channel partners through training, joint customer visits, and performance
reviews.
Monitor channel performance and ensure alignment with regional sales objectives.
5. Sales Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional sales team.
Set clear sales targets, KRAs, and performance expectations for team members.
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skill development
initiatives.
Build a strong sales culture focused on accountability, customer focus, and results.
6. Market Development & Expansion
Drive market development initiatives to expand the company's presence in Bangalore
and surrounding territories.
Identify new markets, applications, and customer segments.
Track market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to refine sales strategies.
Support new product launches and market penetration initiatives.
7. Stakeholder Management
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as product management,
application engineering, marketing, supply chain, finance, and service teams.
Act as a bridge between customers, channel partners, and internal teams.
Ensure seamless coordination for order execution, deliveries, and post-sales support.
Technical / Technological Competencies
Strong product knowledge in electrical, electronics, or automation products.
Hands-on experience with CRM and ERP portals for sales tracking, order
management, and reporting.
Ability to perform data analysis and sales reporting to drive insights and decision-
making.
Strong financial acumen, including understanding of pricing, margins, profitability,
and working capital.
Ability to use sales data to improve forecasting accuracy and pipeline health.
Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech)
(Electrical / Electronics / Automation preferred)
Experience
Proven experience in regional sales management or senior sales roles.
Experience in manufacturing industries such as Electrical, Electronics, or
Automation.
Demonstrated success in managing teams, channels, and large customer accounts.
Strong exposure to B2B sales environments.
