Regional Sales Manager – Chennai
Location: Chennai, candidate with extensive experience in south will be preferred.

Role Overview
As Regional Sales Manager for Chennai, you will lead the go-to-market strategy, expand CMS's footprint in Southern India, and drive revenue growth across public sector and private enterprise segments. You'll be the face of CMS in the region, building C-suite relationships, structuring complex deals, and mentoring a high-performance sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Leadership & Strategy
- Own P&L for Chennai region; define and execute annual sales plans
- Analyze local market dynamics, identify growth pockets, and prioritize target accounts
- Build and coach a team of sales professionals, fostering a culture of accountability
- New Business Development
- Prospect and qualify leads in Government bodies, PSUs, and large enterprises
- Leverage domain expertise in IoT, SaaS, Digital, Bespoke Applications, Cloud, Mobility, Data Analytics, and AI/ML to position CMS solutions
- Drive pipeline progression from discovery through contract negotiation and closure
- Executive Engagement & Contract Negotiation
- Lead boardroom discussions and RFP responses at C-level and senior executive forums
- Negotiate complex, high-value contracts with clear risk mitigation and win-win structures
- Solution Consulting & Collaboration
- Partner with presales, solution architects, and delivery teams to develop bespoke demos and proposals
- Translate technical capabilities into business outcomes, articulating ROI and TCO benefits
- Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning
- Monitor government procurement cycles, PSU tender pipelines, and competitor moves
- Provide market feedback to product and leadership teams to refine go-to-market offerings
- Sales Operations & Reporting
- Track regional KPIs (pipeline coverage, win rates, deal velocity) and report cadence to leadership
- Ensure CRM hygiene, accurate forecasting, and on-time payment follow-up
Required Qualifications
- Sales Experience: 8 years of New Business Sales, with proven success in Government/PSU and Enterprise segments
- Domain Expertise: Hands-on experience selling IoT, SaaS, Digital Transformation, Bespoke Applications, Cloud, Mobility, Data Analytics, or AI/ML solutions
- Education: must have Bachelor's degree in Engineering, candidate with B.Tech + MBA will be preferred.
- Executive Presence: Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close C-level contracts
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of Chennai's IT landscape, local procurement processes, and key decision-makers
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication, with strong presentation and storytelling abilities
- Leadership & Collaboration: Track record of building and leading high-performance teams; strong cross-functional partnership skills
