Purpose of the job:
To provide direction to stores in a region to meet the sales, profitability, growth and customer satisfaction targets
Role & Responsibilities:
Driving Customer centricity:
- Provides regional perspective on target customers and supports the Head Retail Operations on key decision making based on customer insights as well as operational inputs
- Monitors customer satisfaction levels against benchmarks and supports the stores on constantly improving the same.
- Ensures that display standards are as per guidelines to provide the desired customer experience at the stores
People Management:
- Reviews the manpower plan for the region and signs off on any hiring for the stores; participates in assessment centers for the front-line staff and plays an active role in their learning & growth prospects. Ensures implementation of training calendar through outsourced trainers with guidance from the Brands and the central Training specialist.
- Facilitates implementation of employee engagement initiatives for the frontline and regional staff including store managers, Area Sales Managers as well as team members from VM, HR, etc. who report to him / her administratively.
Financial / sales performance:
- Conducts competition mapping for the region and provides feedback to Head Retail Operations on increasing sales; facilitates key decisions based on regional insights (internal / operations related as well as external / market related)
- Sets the area and store-wise sales targets and reviews them periodically; conducts store visits and provides necessary inputs to the store teams. Guides the ASM / Retail Executives on decision-making with respect to store activities.
- Handles overall responsibility for P&L of the region.
Process Management:
- Drives adherence to SOP across stores in the region to achieve operational efficiency
- Provides feedback on process improvements based on store level implementation in order to improve productivity and profitability
- Guides the store teams on managing crisis situations
- Provides inputs to BD on potential sites for opening new stores within the regions;
- Works with Marketing & VM teams on execution of Below-the-line marketing activities and VM across stores in the region respectively. Coordinates with vendors in the region for these activities
Person Profile:
Desired Qualification:
Graduate or Post graduate degree in business administration / retail management
Desired Experience Profile:
10 - 12 years experience in retail operations (preferably apparel / fashion retail) with at least 2 years experience in handling an area sales responsibility
