Company Description Roots Industries India Limited (RIL), established in 1970, is the flagship company of the Roots Group and supplies products to many of the world's leading automobile brands. The company operates full-fledged manufacturing facilities in India, Malaysia, and Russia, supported by offices in key global locations. RIL produces a wide range of automotive components including electric and electronic horns, backup alarms, halogen bulbs, brake components, clutch plates, batteries, and reverse sensors. The High Precision Engineering Division serves medical, aerospace, flow control, automotive, and other engineering sectors, while ROOTS METROLOGY provides accredited calibration, inspection, and training services. RIL also operates ROOTS SYONA, a commercial furniture division focused on ergonomically designed products, reflecting the group's emphasis on innovation, technology, and indigenous talent.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Regional Sales & Business Development Manager based in Indore. The role involves driving regional sales growth, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding market presence for RIL's product lines in the assigned territory. The manager will develop and execute regional sales strategies, manage key customer relationships, and build partnerships with distributors, OEMs, and channel partners. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and lead generation, conducting client meetings and product presentations, preparing proposals and quotations, and negotiating and closing deals. The role will also require market and competitor analysis, sales forecasting and reporting, close coordination with internal teams (marketing, operations, finance, and customer service), and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and post-sales support.
Qualifications
  • Strong sales and business development skills, including prospecting, lead generation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Experience in regional or territory management, channel management, and key account management, preferably in automotive, engineering, or related industries.
  • Ability to conduct market research, analyze competitors, and translate insights into actionable sales strategies.
  • Proficient in preparing sales reports, forecasts, and presentations using standard productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, CRM systems).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build long-term relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with a focus on meeting targets and managing multiple opportunities concurrently.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in B2B sales to OEMs, industrial customers, or institutional buyers is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region as required for client visits and business development activities.
