Role Overview
The Regional Operations Head – Gujarat will be the organisation's senior-most operational authority for the Gujarat region, driving end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of large-scale PMC and construction management projects. This is a high-impact P&L leadership role that demands a seasoned professional capable of steering multi-project portfolios, building client relationships with India's top developers and government bodies, and embedding a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence across the region.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Lead regional operations in Gujarat in alignment with the organisation's national strategy and global delivery standards.
- Develop and implement detailed operational plans to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant project delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement across project execution, HSE performance, quality, and client satisfaction metrics.
- Represent the organisation in the Gujarat market and actively support business development and pre-qualification initiatives.
2. Project Oversight
- Supervise multiple concurrent project teams across the region, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and safety.
- Establish and monitor project KPIs; implement timely corrective actions and escalation protocols.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, RERA, local authority requirements, client contracts, and internal governance policies.
- Review and sign off on project execution plans, risk registers, and milestone reporting across the Gujarat portfolio.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary senior point of contact for key clients — including real estate developers, infrastructure authorities, and government bodies — across the region.
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with clients, design consultants, main contractors, specialist vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Resolve escalated project issues and proactively manage client expectations to deliver high levels of satisfaction.
- Represent the organisation at industry forums, pre-bid meetings, and client presentations in Gujarat.
4. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional team comprising Project Directors, Project Managers, Engineers, Cost Managers, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and safety consistent with the organisation's values and leadership principles.
- Identify training needs, support career development, and drive succession planning for the region.
- Promote knowledge sharing and adoption of global best practices, BIM capabilities, and Lean construction methodologies.
5. Financial & Commercial Management
- Prepare, own, and manage the regional P&L, including budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
- Ensure project profitability through rigorous cost control, resource optimisation, and commercial discipline.
- Oversee contract administration, variation management, and client billing processes across the portfolio.
- Support business development and pre-sales efforts, including bid strategy reviews, fee proposals, and client presentations.
Expertise & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (mandatory).
- Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, MRICS, or equivalent will be advantageous.
Experience
- 20–25 years of progressive experience in the construction or PMC industry.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior operational leadership role with direct P&L accountability.
- Proven track record managing large-scale infrastructure, real estate, or mixed-use projects across multiple geographies — experience in western India / Gujarat is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project portfolios of significant scale, with combined construction value typically exceeding INR 1,000 Cr.
- Experience working within international-standard PMC delivery frameworks, reporting systems, and quality management protocols.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop large, diverse teams.
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder communication skills — fluency in Gujarati is a plus.
- Commercial acumen with hands-on experience in contract management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera P6), BIM platforms, and reporting dashboards.
- Strong understanding of Indian construction regulations, statutory approvals, and local contracting practices.
