Job Description

As the Regional Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our MedComms operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Organisational Leadership:

  • Develop and execute an operations strategy that supports revenue acceleration, margin improvement, and client satisfaction across the region.
  • Lead change initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

Operational Excellence:

  • Design capacity models and a scalable operating framework for multi-country delivery.
  • Introduce and embed continuous improvement methodologies, standardise processes, templates, and playbooks across markets.
  • Govern enterprise project management and resource planning tools; drive automation and AI-enabled workflows to reduce manual effort and error.

Client Centricity:

  • Partner with client-facing teams to translate client needs into operational plans and SLAs.
  • Support business development and account growth with operational insights, pricing models, and scalable delivery solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with finance, HR, technology, and the wider MedComms leadership team to align operational plans, budgets, and talent strategies
  • Alongside leadership peers plan and implement change initiatives required to achieve business objectives.

Job Overview:

Through exceptional operational leadership, the Regional Operations Director is critical to the future of our Medical Communications (MedComms) business unit. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the organisation operates as efficiently and effectively as possible to deliver business growth objectives. With deep experience across multi-country operations, project/resource management tools, and AI-enabled automation, you will standardise and scale processes, drive cost optimisation, and build delivery hubs to support high-quality client delivery.

Main responsibilities of this position include:

  

·        Develop and execute an operations strategy that supports growth, margin improvement, and client satisfaction across the region.

·        Foster a growth culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

·        Optimise utilisation, throughput, and cycle times via demand forecasting, resource planning, and capacity management.

·        Establish and monitor operational and financial KPIs, analyse performance data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to ensure targets are met and drive ongoing improvement.

·        Build, launch, and manage delivery hubs that provide scalable medical communications resourcing for global deliverables, including governance, SLAs, and workforce planning.

·        Govern enterprise project management and resource planning tools; drive automation and AI-enabled workflows to improve productivity, reduce manual effort and error.

·        Ensure employee knowledge, expertise, and effectiveness across new and existing operating platforms and workflows through training, enablement, and SOPs.

·        Implement best practices and rigorous quality control processes; uphold compliance with industry standards and internal policies.

·        In coordination with MedComms leaders plan and implement change initiatives required to achieve business objectives. Keep employees engaged during and after changes, establishing accountability and facilitating feedback and ongoing improvement.

                                                                                   

 Key requirements (must have):

·        Minimum of 10 years of experience in a fast-paced, multi-country, client-driven environment, e.g. agency, consultancy or other service provider, with at least 5 years in an operations leadership role.

·        Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team, establishing high-performance culture.

·        Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

·        Ability to drive change and implement process improvements effectively.

·        Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, additional regional languages an advantage.
