Key Responsibilities
Business & Market Development
- Assess market conditions to identify current and potential business opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders within the managed region to enhance the company's market presence and reputation, in line with strategic objectives.
- Identify and develop focus trade lanes to generate new business opportunities.
- Identify new business opportunities, lead negotiations, and ensure successful execution of sales agreements.
People, Financial & Operational Management
- Responsible for the P&L of the region and all operational aspects, while assessing market conditions to identify current and potential business opportunities.
- Manage the regional budget and allocate resources effectively to achieve annual targets.
- Oversee all personnel management, including staffing, planning, training, and development, in close collaboration with Human Resources.
Compliance & Legal
- Ensure compliance at the regional level, adhering to high ethical standards and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for legal matters within the region, ensuring timely escalation to the Head Office when necessary.
- Share knowledge, best practices, business opportunities and market insights with other regions and Head Office, maintaining close collaboration with the sales team.
Key Competencies:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the freight forwarding industry, including roles such as Branch Manager, Sales Manager, or Operations Manager.
- Proven experience across Air and Ocean freight, Import and Export operations, and ready to onboard customer portfolio.
- Solid knowledge of modern management techniques and industry best practices.
Technical Competences:
- Strong computer skills (knowledge of CargoWise is a plus).
- In-depth knowledge of international freight forwarding and logistics, including market trends, competitors, and industry challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and operational goals.
- Familiarity with industry rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
