Role Overview
The Regional Manager will lead the sales and business operations for the assigned region, managing a team of
ASMs and
Medical Representatives . The role demands strong leadership, scientific selling capability, and proven experience in driving prescription growth, team productivity, and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Business Leadership
- Deliver regional sales targets across all brands and therapy segments
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans for the region
- Ensure consistent prescription generation through effective doctor coverage
- Drive brand visibility, market share growth, and territory expansion
- Team Management (ASMs + MRs)
- Lead, coach, and motivate ASMs and Medical Representatives
- Conduct joint fieldwork, on-the-job coaching, and performance reviews
- Ensure adherence to call averages, coverage plans, and reporting discipline
- Identify capability gaps and implement structured training interventions
- Build a high-performance culture with strong accountability
- Market Development Execution Excellence
- Strengthen relationships with key doctors, hospitals, and trade partners
- Plan and execute CMEs, doctor engagement programs, and regional marketing initiatives
- Ensure product availability through effective stockist and distributor coordination
- Monitor competitor activities and provide actionable insights
- Compliance, Governance Reporting
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs, ethical promotion guidelines, and regulatory norms
- Maintain accurate MIS, sales reports, and market intelligence
- Drive CRM/Reporting tool usage across the team
- Ensure compliance in promotional activities and field operations
Required Qualifications Skills
- A graduate in Science/Pharmacy preferred
- 10-15 years of pharma sales experience with strong exposure to regional markets
- Minimum 1-2 years as ASM/First-Line Manager; second-line experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage large territories and diverse teams
- High energy, discipline, and strong execution capability
