Atlantic Gate is looking for an ambitious and results-driven Regional Head – South India to lead our operations across the South India region. Based in Chennai, you will be responsible for driving business growth, operational excellence, and profitability while leading a high-performing team.

This is a strategic leadership role with full ownership of the regional Profit & Loss (P&L), focusing on expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring sustainable business growth across all business units and branches within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the overall business operations for the South India region, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Drive sales growth by developing and executing effective commercial and business development strategies.
  • Take full ownership of the regional P&L, ensuring revenue growth, cost optimization, and profitability across all business lines.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence through strategic customer acquisition and account development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners, carriers, and vendors.
  • Develop procurement strategies and strengthen supplier relationships to improve service quality and competitiveness.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and oversee post-sales support to drive long-term customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify business opportunities and risks.
  • Lead, coach, and develop regional sales and operations teams to achieve business targets and high performance.
  • Establish clear KPIs and monitor team performance through regular reviews and coaching.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the company during key customer meetings, negotiations, and strategic business discussions.
  • Work closely with the Sales Director & Country Manager to execute regional growth strategies and business initiatives.
  • Undertake any other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales management, and P&L ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding, including Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, and Contract Logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth while managing operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, and team development skills.
  • Strong commercial mindset with outstanding negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple branches or regional operations is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Additional regional language proficiency would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as required.
