About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a reputable Financial Services organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant to support their regional finance operations across Asia.
This role sits within a dynamic and fast-paced finance environment, responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and timely month-end and year-end closing activities across multiple business units.
Role Overview
The Financial Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting regional reporting requirements. You will work closely with finance, tax, and audit stakeholders to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes across multiple entities
- Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Ensure adherence to IFRS/GAAP and internal control frameworks
- Support external audits and regulatory reporting by preparing required schedules and documentation
- Provide financial data and support to the tax team for GST/VAT filings and statutory reporting
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key accounting processes
- Support ongoing process improvements and enhancements within finance operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting or financial reporting
- Experience working in multi-entity or regional environments is an advantage
- Experience within the Financial Services industry is beneficial but not mandatory
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting principles
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work effectively under tight month-end and reporting deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems/ERP tools
- Strong communication skills, especially in liaising with auditors and cross-functional stakeholders
