Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Refrigeration Technician with experience in ammonia and Freon-based refrigeration plants for cold room and cold storage operations. The candidate will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and smooth functioning of refrigeration systems while ensuring safety and temperature compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain ammonia/Freon refrigeration systems and cold room equipment.
- Monitor temperature, pressure, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigeration controls.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of refrigeration plants.
- Identify and troubleshoot leakage, compressor faults, and electrical/mechanical issues.
- Ensure uninterrupted cooling operations and minimize downtime.
- Maintain daily maintenance logs and operational records.
- Handle gas charging, defrosting, piping, and valve maintenance activities.
- Follow safety procedures for ammonia handling and refrigeration operations.
- Coordinate with operations and facility teams for smooth plant functioning.
- Ensure compliance with safety and food-grade cold storage standards.
Requirements:
- ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrical, or Mechanical.
- 3–6 years of experience in cold storage or cold chain refrigeration systems.
- Hands-on experience with ammonia and Freon refrigeration plants.
- Knowledge of compressors, PLC/control panels, pumps, and refrigeration components.
- Ability to handle emergency breakdowns and maintenance activities.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety practices.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in cold storage warehouses, food processing, dairy, frozen foods, or pharmaceutical cold chain.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and refrigeration safety standards.
