We are looking for a full-time, permanent position in APAC at Chennai, India.
Job Purpose:
The Referential Data Manager is the strategic owner of DHL's organizational HR data landscape, ensuring enterprise-wide accuracy, integrity, and governance of critical people and organizational structures.
In this role, you take end-to-end responsibility for designing and evolving reference data models across Shared Data Hubs and connected systems, proactively monitoring interfaces, investigating issues, and driving root cause analysis to resolve cross-system inconsistencies.
Leveraging deep expertise in HDL and/or People API, along with strong SQL and database skills, you perform advanced data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation activities.
Your tasks:
- Own and govern the accuracy, consistency, and integrityof enterprise reference data across SDH1, RDM, and their downstream consumers, ensuring compliance with global standards and data governance frameworks.
- Proactively monitor and optimize data interfaces, identifying complex integration issues early, coordinating cross-system impact assessments, and driving timely, sustainable resolutions.
- Beyond technical execution, you lead process optimization, influence data governance frameworks, and collaborate with divisional stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions that support both operational excellence and strategic transformation initiatives.
- Lead advanced root cause analysisfor data discrepancies and interface failures, defining and implementing long-term corrective and preventive actions that improve overall system stability.
- Execute sophisticated data validation, reconciliation, and cleansing activities, leveraging expert knowledge of data models and system interdependencies to ensure high-quality and trusted data.
- Act as a senior escalation pointfor 2nd-level support, partnering with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to resolve incidents, guide technical decisions, and minimize business disruption.
- Champion and drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying optimization opportunities, refining data processes, and contributing to the evolution of global data standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including data management procedures, governance guidelines, in tegration logic, and troubleshooting playbooks, enabling transparency, compliance, and knowledge transfer across teams.
Your profile:
- 5-7 years of advanced professional experiencein HR data management, HRIS integration, or enterprise data operations within large-scale or global organizations.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with Oracle HCM Cloud data tools, including:
- HCM Data Loader (HDL)for complex data loads, mass updates, and error remediation
- People APIfor real-time integrations and advanced troubleshooting
- Reference Data Management (RDM)and/orSpreadsheet Data Loader (SDH)for managing master data and configuration structures
- High proficiency in SQL, with the ability to perform complex data queries, reconciliations, integrity checks, and performance-focused troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of HR data architecture, including organizational hierarchies, position structures, worker data models, and cross-system mapping rules.
- Demonstrated experience in interface and integration monitoring, including incident analysis, error pattern recognition, and execution of structured root cause and impact assessments.
- Proven ability to operate independently as a senior L2 support expert, managing escalations, providing authoritative guidance, and implementing sustainable corrective actions for HR data integrations.
- Experience with process optimization and automation, using tools or methodologies (e.g., scripting, workflow automation, Lean principles) to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
- Strong exposure to global HR landscapes, understanding diverse regulatory requirements, regional variations, and end-to-end cross-functional data flows.
- Practical scripting or programming capabilities(e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell) to support data transformation, validation, or automation tasks.
