Job Description

Talent Formula (www.talentformula.co) is a consulting firm that offers outsourced financial and accounting Human Resources to Chartered Accounting firms worldwide. We have been asked to source staff on behalf of Red Fish Accounts. We currently have an Intermediate Accountant position available in the team.

Role Overview

You will support a UK-based accountancy practice by preparing statutory accounts, corporation tax computations, and working papers across a varied client portfolio. This is a preparation-focused role. You will not be responsible for client communication or final review, but you will be expected to take ownership of your work, identify issues, and raise clear queries for the UK team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare statutory accounts for:limited companies (FRS 102 and FRS 105),
  • partnerships and sole traders.
  • Prepare working papers including supporting reconciliations, lead schedules and clear audit trails
  • Draft corporation computations and returns using TaxCalc(tool is not essential)
  • Post journals and adjustments within QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero
  • Prepare clear, concise queries for the UK team to resolve outstanding items.
  • Assist with occasional bookkeeping corrections and clean-up work where required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with internal processes and deadlines.

Skills And Qualification

  • Any relevant degree in commerce, accounts and finance.
  • 1+ years of strong experience in UK accounts preparation within an accountancy practice.
  • Solid understanding of: FRS 102 and FRS 105
  • Corporation tax fundamentals
  • Experience preparing corporation tax computations
  • Hands-on experience with Xero and/or QuickBooks Online.
  • Ability to work from incomplete records and identify issues independently
  • Strong attention to detail with well-structured working papers
  • Clear written communication — able to raise queries that are easy for others to action
