Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager who has a strong track record of hiring for mortgage and underwriting functions. The role will be responsible for leading end-to-end recruitment strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and building high-quality talent pipelines across underwriting, credit risk, and mortgage operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment Strategy & Execution
- Lead end-to-end hiring for mortgage and underwriting roles (e.g., Underwriters, Credit Analysts, Mortgage Processors, Risk Analysts).
- Develop and execute hiring strategies aligned with business growth plans.
- Manage bulk hiring as well as niche/critical role hiring within underwriting and mortgage domains.
2. Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business leaders, hiring managers, and senior leadership to understand workforce needs.
- Provide market intelligence on talent trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor hiring practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on hiring strategies and talent availability.
3. Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of recruiters.
- Set performance metrics and ensure delivery against hiring targets.
- Drive capability building within the TA team, especially for domain hiring.
4. Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Building
- Build strong pipelines using job portals, social media, referrals, and industry networks.
- Leverage data and analytics to improve sourcing effectiveness.
- Ensure a strong employer brand presence in the mortgage and underwriting talent market.
5. Process Excellence
- Ensure efficient recruitment processes with a focus on quality, speed, and candidate experience.
- Track and report key hiring metrics (TAT, cost per hire, quality of hire).
- Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices in recruitment.
6. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure hiring practices comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements relevant to financial services hiring.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, with at least 3+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong experience hiring for mortgage, underwriting, or BFSI domains.
- Deep understanding of roles such as:
- Mortgage Underwriters
- Loan Processors
- Credit Risk Analysts
- Title/Closing Specialists
- Proven ability to manage high-volume and specialized hiring.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience using ATS systems and recruitment analytics tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in captive/outsourcing environments supporting US/UK mortgage markets.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance aspects of mortgage hiring.
- Strong networking skills within the BFSI talent ecosystem.
