Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Kafka Platform Engineer with strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale real-time streaming platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of Apache Kafka, distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and modern DevOps practices. The role involves building resilient streaming architectures, optimizing Kafka clusters, implementing secure data pipelines, and ensuring platform reliability in high-throughput production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Streaming Architecture
• Design, implement, and maintain Kafka-based real-time streaming solutions.
• Develop scalable event-driven architectures capable of handling high-throughput and low-latency workloads.
• Build robust messaging and data streaming frameworks for enterprise applications.
• Kafka Cluster Administration
• Perform Kafka cluster installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Optimize cluster performance, capacity planning, and resource utilization.
• Implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and backup strategies.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure minimal downtime.
• Pipeline Development
• Design and develop streaming data pipelines using Kafka ecosystem tools.
• Work extensively with:
• Kafka Connect
• Schema Registry
• ksqlDB
• Producers and Consumers
• Process and transform large volumes of real-time data efficiently.
• Cloud & Infrastructure Automation
• Deploy and manage Kafka platforms on cloud environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based deployment models.
• Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and application teams for seamless deployments.
• Security & Reliability
• Implement and maintain Kafka security best practices.
• Configure and manage:
• SSL/mTLS
• SASL Authentication
• ACL-based Authorization
• Ensure platform scalability, fault tolerance, observability, and operational excellence.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response mechanisms.

Required Skills:

Strong experience with Apache Kafka Administration and Development
