The Role
We are looking for a high-ownership, driven
React Native SDE-1 to join our engineering team immediately. At BP, ownership doesn't mean just picking up isolated Jira tasks. You will take end-to-end technical responsibility for core functional components within our hybrid application architecture specifically driving our
React Native Payments Modules, Wallet Workflows.
This role sits at the intersection of robust cross-platform development, crypto wallet interactions, and modern mobile apps. If you are a mid-junior engineer ready to step up, own a vital slice of a production app, and fast-track your growth toward an SDE-2 mindset, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities (Your Domain Of Ownership)
- Module Ownership: Take end-to-end accountability for mobile payment workflows inside our React Native app, including traditional payment gateways, crypto wallet connections and checkout screens.
- Feature Execution: Review Figma designs and product requirements, draft concise technical implementation notes and confluence documents, and independently deliver high-quality, pixel-perfect interfaces with minimal hand-holding.
- Code Excellence: Maintain high code quality using TypeScript, implement robust offline handling, secure storage for cryptographic keys/sensitive data, and ensure high test coverage within your module.
- Production Monitoring: Track payment/crypto transaction drop-off metrics from a technical lens, monitor app stability, and act as the first line of defense for production bugs originating from domain.
What We're Looking For
Must-have:
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of professional experience building and deploying production apps using React Native and TypeScript .(Consumer facing product).
- Hands-on experience with cache, redux-toolkit & zustand.
- Hands-on experience with tan-stack or rtk-querry to fetch retry and maintain cache data on client.
- Hands-on experience with at least 1 local storage- watermelon-db/sqlite or asyncstorage.
- Good understanding on Deeplinks & notifications modules.
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of payment workflows (gateways, checkout states)
- Basic understanding & familiarity with mobile CI/CD tools like Bitrise or automation via Fastlane.
- Product Instincts: You care about how things feel and look, ensuring smooth transitions and a polished user experience.
Nice-to-have:
- Native Capabilities: Basic understanding or working knowledge of native mobile development (Swift for iOS or Java/Kotlin for Android) to handle native bridges, write custom native modules, or interact with hardware-backed secure enclaves when required.
- App Lifecycle: Clear understanding of OTA update management and the overall iOS App Store / Google Play deployment lifecycle.
- Familiarity with API integrations & basic system design.
- Exposure to tools like Reanimated, React Query, Reactatron, RN dev tools.
- Previous experience at an early-stage startup (consumer facing app).
