About Wholesale Credit
The Wholesale Credit department in the Bank is a Credit Underwriting department for all Large/ mid and SME clientele of the Bank. It is also responsible for ensuring the maintenance of a good portfolio quality and for ensuring smooth credit appraisal processes
AbouttheRole
The Area Credit Head (ACH) manages the credit activities, processes and people for the Wholesale Credit vertical for designated location. The ACH is responsible for smooth functioning of the Credit appraisal activities and hence managing the portfolio quality and also ensures adherence to the processes designed by the bank
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the credit team in the location to manage the credit appraisal process, by ensuring adherence to the standard process, Turn Around Time and decision consistency
  • Ensuring the quality of proposals and credit appraisal to minimize delinquency and build portfolio of expected quality.
  • Gather market intelligence with other financial institutions and entities to understand the market dynamics and risk trends, and to use necessary information for taking credit decisions.
  • Monitor the accounts to ensure maintenance of a healthy portfolio.
  • Manage the relationship with various functions and departments within the bank to ensure collaboration and alignment to organizational objectives
  • Maintain the Customer escalations within the desired levels for the location
  • Ensure timely completion of key deliverables, audit queries and adherence to the corporate credit policy/ scheme
  • Provide regular updates on all key activities to regional manager
  • Motivate and direct the team through feedback and grooming to help them perform as per expectation
  • Conduct manpower planning and ensure staffing requirements are met
Qualifications

Graduation/ Post- Graduation (MBA/ CA preferred) from a recognized institute

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience

Knowledge of credit, industry and product trends

Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and norms

Good communication (both verbal and written) skill in both English and the local language

Ability to manage risk and uncertainty for self and team within a dynamic priority-setting environment

Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines

Ability to coach and mentor others
