Job Title- Rating Analyst

Location - Mumbai, Pune
Role-
• Analyze and evaluate the creditworthiness of companies, governments, and other entities, including their financial statements, industry trends, and market conditions
• Gather and analyze data from various sources, including financial statements, regulatory filings, and market research reports
• Assess and evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers, including their ability to meet debt obligations
• Stay up to date with market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments
• Credit/risk analysis, counterparty assessments involving rigorous credit and counterparty risk analysis encompassing industry / business research, transparency/regulatory compliance, litigation checks and financial analysis of various corporates.
• Analyse Company's financial performance include-
o Past financial performance which includes profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow/fund flow, ratio analysis & benchmark these against peer performances
o Analysis of fund diversions/related party transactions
o Bank statements/GST data/ credit bureau data analysis
o Projected future performance of the company
• Thorough virtual or face to face interactions with high profile individuals and teams of professionals like CEOs/MDs/CFOs of corporates from various sectors for understanding business dynamics, strategies and plans
• Undertake data mining from sources such as media, regulatory websites, research publications, periodicals, industry sources, respective company reports, etc.
• Prepare reports that cogently capture the information available with respect to the credit, compliances highlighting key risks and grading parameters along with relevant analytical observations, trends, and queries for the client, information gaps, etc.
• Ensure adherence to set processes and timelines
• Maintain a high level of data and analytical quality in report preparation
• Research capabilities-
o Design and implement research studies, including developing research questions, methodologies, and data collection instruments
o Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from various sources, including academic journals, government databases, and proprietary datasets
o Conduct literature reviews and synthesize research findings to inform policy and business decisions
Candidate profile-
• Background in credit/risk analysis of small/mid and large corporates with sector specific understanding
• Work experience in Big 4 accounting firms (KPMG, E&Y etc), D&B or other credit rating agencies will be preferred
• Independent and decisive mindset
• Should be capable of multi-tasking and handling projects with deadlines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS-Excel, word and power point skills
Preferred qualifications-
• MBA, CA/inter CA, CFA level 1 or 2 with 1 to 2 years of experience
• Knowledge of technology/ tools like python, Power BI, Tableau would be added advantage
