About the Role:-
When something happens in a campaign that requires a response within hours an opposition attack, a damaging headline, a crisis moment this person makes that response happen. The Rapid Response Lead is always watching, always ready, and always thinking three moves ahead of the political environment. This is one of the most demanding roles on the team and is built for someone who genuinely thrives under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:-
Monitor the political media environment in real time news channels, digital news, social media, and opposition communications for every active campaign
Identify threats, attacks, and opportunities that require a campaign response within hours
Activate a rapid response when require brief the relevant copywriter, coordinate approvals with senior leadership, and ensure a response is live within 6 hours
Build, maintain, and update the Rapid Response Playbook for each campaign pre-draft responses to the 20 most likely attack scenarios before each campaign begins
Work with the WhatsApp and X Strategist to distribute counter-narratives at speed
Maintain a real-time brief of opposition messaging, attack lines, and political vulnerabilities for every active campaign
Required Skills & Experience:-
5–8 years of experience in political communication, political journalism, political PR, or crisis communications
Deep familiarity with Indian political media TV news cycles, digital news platforms, X political discourse, and how stories escalate and die
Exceptional speed of written output able to draft a press statement or counter-narrative under significant time pressure
Strong judgment knows when to respond, when to stay quiet, and when to escalate; overreaction and underreaction are equally damaging in this role
Experience building rapid response systems playbooks, escalation protocols, approval chains
Availability outside standard hours during live campaign periods this role does not have a fixed boundary during active election season
Strong Hindi and English; regional language understanding for relevant states is a plus
