Job Description

Position: Part-Time Radiologist

Department: Diagnostic Services

Location: [Apollo Clinic, Wanowrie, Kharadi, Viman Nagar in Pune]

Reporting To: Center Head

Work Mode: On-site

Work Hours- 2 to 4 hours a day – Monday to Saturday

Role Summary

The Part-Time Radiologist will support primary care clinic by providing accurate and timely interpretation of basic diagnostic imaging studies and performing essential ultrasound scans. The focus is on enhancing clinical decision-making within the primary care setting and ensuring high-quality, patient-centric diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret commonly required imaging studies in primary care, including:
  • X-rays (Chest, Abdomen, Musculoskeletal, Spine)
  • Basic Ultrasound scans (Abdomen, Small parts, Obstetric scans
  • Perform on-site ultrasound services during scheduled hours.
  • Provide quick turnaround on routine primary care imaging reports.
  • Assist primary care physicians in correlating clinical findings with imaging results.
  • Support preventive health packages by reporting screening imaging studies.
  • Ensure adherence to PCPNDT, radiation safety, and clinical quality standards.
  • Coordinate with technicians to maintain image quality and equipment cleanliness/safety.
  • Escalate complex findings and advise referral to specialty services when needed.
  • Participate in clinic-based quality improvement initiatives and audit exercises.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MBBS + MD/DNB in Radiology (or DMRD with relevant experience).
  • Valid State Medical Council registration.
  • Experience in primary care or outpatient diagnostic settings preferred.
  • Proficiency in reporting X-rays and performing routine ultrasound studies.
  • Familiarity with PACS/RIS workflows used in clinic settings.
  • Ability to provide concise, clinically helpful reports.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong understanding of common primary care conditions (RTI, LBP, arthritis, abdominal pain, reproductive health, etc.).
  • Ability to guide clinicians on appropriate imaging choices.
  • Experience in point-of-care ultrasound is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills with both clinicians and patients.
  • Comfort with moderate patient volumes and structured slot-based appointments.

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time hours:  3–4 hours/day.
  • Compensation: per Scan
  • Preferable availability during peak OPD hours (morning/evening).
