Job Summary
ULOOK is seeking an experienced RF System Engineer to design, analyze and validate high-performance spaceborne RF sensing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in RF front-end design, antenna selection and integration, system noise figure analysis, sensitivity estimation, SDR-based development and link budget calculations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate and analyze RF front-end architectures for space-based sensing applications.
- Develop RF front-end architectures for SDR receiver, transmitter and transceiver systems.
- Perform RF chain analysis, including gain planning, noise figure budgeting, sensitivity calculation and dynamic range estimation.
- Design and review RF PCB layouts with attention to impedance control, grounding, shielding and component placement.
- Select, evaluate and integrate antennas for communication, sensing and direction-finding applications.
- Conduct link budget analysis for various operational ranges and deployment conditions.
- Work with SDR platforms for prototyping, signal capture and system validation.
- Characterize and optimize RF performance using spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators and related RF test equipment.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, FPGA and system teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Debug RF issues related to spurious responses, interference, sensitivity degradation and noise coupling.
- Prepare design documentation, test reports and support design reviews.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication, RF, Microwave or related field.
- 4 - 6 years of experience in RF system design, integration and validation.
- Strong understanding of RF front-end design.
- Proficiency in RF design/simulation tools.
- Good knowledge of antennas, antenna matching and integration.
- Expertise in noise figure, sensitivity, gain and link budget analysis.
- Familiarity with SDR systems and RF signal processing.
- Understanding of impedance matching, S-parameters, return loss, insertion loss and isolation.
- Experience with RF test and measurement equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize real-world RF systems.
Preferred Skills
- Master's degree in Communication, RF, Microwave or related field.
- Experience with software-defined RF systems.
- Hands-on experience with RF PCB design and layout best practices.
- Experience in direction finding, geolocation or radar systems.
- Familiarity with LNA, mixers, filters, attenuators and PLLs.
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI mitigation techniques.
- Experience with multi-channel synchronization and phase-coherent systems.
- Exposure to embedded Linux, FPGA-based SDR platforms or RFSoC based systems.
